A Limited Opportunity for Enthusiasts

BMW will open orders for the Z4 Final Edition in late January 2026. It will be offered as an optional trim package across all engine variants, making the farewell edition accessible to both casual roadster fans and performance-focused buyers.

Exclusive Frozen Matt Black Finish

The highlight of the Final Edition is its exclusive Frozen Matt Black exterior paint. This finish won’t be available on any other Z4 model, giving the car an immediate collector’s appeal. Paired with the M High-Gloss Shadowline trim, the dark matte look gives the roadster a bold, aggressive personality.

Buyers can also choose any other color from the Z4 range at no extra cost, but the Frozen Matt Black variant remains the standout look. Completing the exterior updates is the M Sport brake package finished in High-Gloss Red, adding both performance capability and a visual pop.

A Cabin with Special Red Accents

Inside, the Z4 Final Edition brings a mix of sportiness and exclusivity. BMW has added unique red contrast stitching that runs across the dashboard, center console, door panels, and M Sport seats trimmed in Vernasca leather and Alcantara.

The M Alcantara steering wheel also receives matching stitching, while special engraved door-sill plates mark the exclusivity of this farewell edition. It’s a subtle but effective upgrade that sets the Final Edition apart from the standard models.

Available Across the Entire Z4 Lineup

The Final Edition is offered for all three Z4 variants:

• Z4 sDrive20i – 145 kW / 197 hp
• Z4 sDrive30i – 190 kW / 258 hp
• Z4 M40i – 250 kW / 340 hp straight-six with M TwinPower Turbo

The package costs 4,200 euros for the sDrive30i and M40i variants, both of which already include the M Sport package. For the sDrive20i, the Final Edition is priced at 7,400 euros, which includes the required M Sport package.

A Roadster with a Rich Legacy

The BMW Z4 story began in 2002, following the global success of the Z3. Manufactured at BMW’s Spartanburg plant in the United States, the first-generation Z4 introduced sharper lines, a long hood, and near-perfect weight distribution that made it a favorite among driving enthusiasts.

The second generation arrived in 2008 with a retractable hardtop roof, blending roadster fun with coupé comfort. It also introduced iDrive to the Z4 lineup for the first time.

The current third generation made its debut in 2018 at Pebble Beach. It returned to a fabric soft-top, improved agility, and modern tech. Its range-topping M40i variant became especially admired for its straight-six power and balanced chassis. In 2024, BMW even brought back a manual-transmission Pure Impulse Edition for purists.

The Final Chapter

With the Final Edition, BMW caps off 24 years of roadster heritage. While convertible sports cars have become rare in today’s market, the Z4 has always stood as proof of BMW’s commitment to pure driving pleasure. This special edition celebrates everything that made the model a favorite among enthusiasts — spirited performance, classic proportions, and unmistakable roadster character.

The BMW Z4 Final Edition is not just another variant. It’s a farewell salute, crafted for collectors and driving enthusiasts who want a piece of BMW roadster history before production comes to a close.
